Dive Sites in North Mayo

Portacloy: Heading straight out of the bay approx. 1 mile offshore the Stags of Broadhaven raise out of the sea. Only one word can describe the diving here, SUPERB!

Belderg: Heading out of the harbour Horse Island is to the West. The diving is good with varying depths.

Downpatrick Head: Launching from Ballycastle pier, Doonbristy sea stack cannot be missed rising out of the sea 4 to 6 meters offshore of the headland. There are numerous quality dives around the 2 finger-like formations jutting out from the shore.

Lacken Pier: A very popular launch site for many dive clubs. This opens up a number of sites both boat and shore. Head East for Kilcummin Head, which offers diving from Trainee to Mon. 3 experience, with varying depths of 18 to 40 meters. Plenty of sea life and many walls to explore. Alternatively head North for Crevagh Head and some interested walls and submerged stacks.

Killala: Acts as a launching site for the wreck of the Themes out in Killala Bay, Kilcummin Head and Crevagh Head.
